We’ve all been there – scrambling in the wee hours of the night for the holiday season to be “just perfect.” There are ways to make the holidays less stressful with these helpful tips.
Tips for Holiday Calm
1. Set boundaries for yourself and your family : Every holiday does not need to be Pinterest perfect. Don’t forget the reason for the season – family, love, cheer and for many, religious celebrations. Have a talk with your spouse, children and other family members to level set why you are celebrating and relieve the pressure from everyone for BIG productions.
2. Set aside a major single shopping day : Going to the mall is very stressful – let’s be real. Rather than taking on the crazy many times over the season, do yourself a great favor and spend time at home preparing lists by person and store and then set a goal to take on the shopping in a single day. Get some coffee before you start and make it a fun day… but then be done.
3. Use online tools to stay organized : Have you checked out tools like Trello or Asana yet? If not – make the holidays your first pass. These tools let you make and manage lists and access them from your phone or computer. Check out a great You tube tutorial here:
4. Don’t be shy to get help! A wise woman knows when to add to her list vs when to outsource. That help can come from spouses, kids, or hired help – but every little bit helps you too enjoy the holidays!
